When looking for a professional photographer for your portfolio be sure to ask if they have a portfolio they can show you. Are they an experienced fashion and glamour photographer ? Will they guarantee their work ? Do they have another job and just do the photography part time or as a hobby ? Have they been published ? When looking at the photographers portfolio if it is it full of sunsets , wedding photos ,portraits , kids , animals and scenery - you may be better off finding another photographer! You want one who specializes in fashion and glamour - not weddings and portraits ! Is it a professional type book or is it something like you can get at any store and is full of small photographs { 4x6 one hour prints} and contains few or no larger prints. Makes excuses for the quality and usually blames the camera or photo lab. Has some 8x10 prints that are not professional lab quality. Be sure to check the quality of their work! Has pictures of their family and kids, weddings , scenery, senior type portraits in their book! This is not who you want ! You want to find one who has fashion and glamour in his book. You are looking for a professional who can get you those professional quality images that will aid you in seeking assignments from other photographers and agencies. Are they online? Do they have their own professional web site ? If they are online and list themselves as a professional is their phone number listed on the site? Are they only listed on “ model sites “ but do not have their own web site showing their professional work ? Have they been published? Where? Are they a member of any professional photographic organizations ? [ camera clubs are not professional organizations ]

Are they affiliated with any modeling schools ? If they are - Run do not pass go and keep your money if they want you sign up for a school !

NOTE: A professional is one who makes his living in that particular field ! { Photography } He will have his contact details listed - If he does not have his phone listed do not even bother - not very professional !!
